Detailed Counselling Procedure of WBJEE 2020

The WBJEE 2020 detailed counselling procedure for admission into various WBJEE  participating colleges is now available at CollegeDekho. The counselling process for WBJEE 2020 entrance exam will be conducted in three rounds followed by the seat allotment to the deserving candidates. The counselling will be conducted online and the Institutes will be responsible to update the number of seats vacant after each round of the WBJEE counselling procedure for the year 2020.

Here is the step-wise detailed counselling procedure of WBJEE 2020 that will be followed by the concerned body:

Step 1: Registration:

This is the first step of the WBJEE 2020 counselling process in which the candidates have to register themselves for the counselling process. The candidates will be required to visit the official WBJEE website, which is www.wbjeeb.nic.in for the registration purpose. The candidates will be redirected to the WBJEEB home page where they can see the WBJEE 2020 counselling link mentioned under the “Important Links” section. The candidates have to click on the very link and which will lead them WBJEE online counselling student login page. The candidates have to enter their Roll Number, Password and other requisite details to get going with the counselling process.

Step 2: Fee Deposition:

In this step, the candidates have to deposit INR 500/- as the counselling fee via any of the available online payment methods. The candidates can submit the counselling amount through credit card, debit card or net banking. The counselling fee is non-refundable in nature which will not be refunded back to the candidates under any circumstance.

Step 3: Choice Filling and Choice Locking:

In this step, the candidates have to fill their choices and lock their choices from the list of colleges and courses available on the website. The candidates must lock their choices in decreasing order of priority. Those candidates who fail to lock their choices before the given deadline will not be taken into consideration for seat allotment and counselling process. Once the last date of choice locking is over, the candidates can only view their choices but cannot alter or modify them. It is also mandatory for the candidates to carry a copy of the locked choices with them to the Reporting Centers.

Step 4: Round I Seat Allocation:

The seat allocation process will begin for the first round of WBJEE 2020 counselling process during the first week of July 2020. Seats will be allocated to the candidates on the basis of their WBJEE 2020 marks and WBJEE 2020 merit list. The seat matrix will be published on the official website on the same date.

Step 5: Payment of Provisional Fee:

Those candidates who will secure a seat in the first round of the online counselling procedure will be required to pay the online provisional admission fee. The candidates will either have to opt for seat confirmation or up-gradation. In both scenarios, it is mandatory for the candidates to deposit the online provisional admission fee. The provisional admission fee that the candidates will pay will vary according to the category of the candidates and Institutions. Details regarding the same have been given below:

  • Open Category Seats (University Departments/State-Aided University/Pharmacy Colleges/Government Engineering & Technology Colleges): INR 5000/-
  • Tuition Fee Waiver (TFW) Category Seats (Any Institute): INR 3000/-
  • Open Category Seats (Self-Financing Universities/Government Engineering & Technology Colleges/University Departments/Architecture Institutes): INR 5000/-

Step 6: Physical Reporting at Reporting Centres:

After the payment of the online provisional counselling procedure, the candidates have to physically report at their respective Reporting Centres to get their documents verified. The candidates must be present along with their documents (Mentioned in the Brochure) for the purpose of proving their candidature. The candidates will be issued a provisional admission letter or allotment card from the reporting centres.

In this step, the candidates will have two options. They may either choose to accept the seat offered to them or may opt for the up-gradation process. In case a student withdraws from the counselling procedure at any RC, he/she will be refunded the provisional admission fee (MHRD Refund Policies).

Those candidates who do not wish to participate in the subsequent counselling and seat allotment rounds must collect their provisional admission letter and report at the allocated Institute before the final date.

Step 7: Round II Seat Allocation:

The second round of the seat allocation process will commence from the second week of July 2020. The number of seats which remained vacant after the first round of seat allocation will also be published by the Board. After the candidates have been allocated seats in the second round, they must report at the Reporting Centres as soon as possible otherwise the seat allocated to them will stand a chance of being cancelled.

Step 8: Round III Seat Allocation:

The third round or phase of the seat allocation process will begin from the third week of July 2020 for those candidates who:

  • Were not allocated a seat in the previous rounds
  • Opted for the Up-gradation process

The seat matrix will be published on the official website. The third round of the seat allotment process will depend upon the number of vacant seats after the completion of the second round of the seat allotment process. The candidates who had been offered a seat, should they choose to accept, must immediately report at the reporting centres and get their documents verified.

NOTE:

  • The seats of those candidates will be cancelled who will report at their respective RCs within the given time period. Such candidates will not be considered for allotment of seats in the subsequent seat allotment rounds
